"Trees of My Life" asks what happens when the world narrows to one point of attention.
Dense forests occupy fragments of the canvas, while the surrounding spaces fade into traces, as if thought were moving between presence and disappearance. The trees branch, overlap and multiply, reflecting the way thoughts and possible directions accumulate. Window-like rectangles become points of observation: at times we look at the world from within our own perspective, and at others we seem to observe ourselves from somewhere outside it.
The project extends into headboard panels made with acrylic, cotton thread and calico. The headboard places these images within the threshold before sleep, when attention shifts inward and thoughts become more intense, fragmented and difficult to control, before gradually dissolving towards near-emptiness.
